Bert Witherspoon leads each engagement, providing direct involvement, clear accountability, and continuity from initial assessment through implementation. When additional expertise is required, he brings together experienced healthcare professionals whose capabilities match the organization’s needs and project scope. Founder & Managing Partner

Bert brings the perspective of a medical group and ambulatory surgery center COO, a rural hospital advisor, a retired firefighter and actively licensed paramedic, and a graduate healthcare finance educator. As a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, he connects leadership, operations, and financial performance with an understanding of the people delivering and receiving care. His experience spans physician practices, hospitals, healthcare start-ups, and EMS organizations.

Bert is not hired to validate comfortable assumptions. He is known for asking the questions others avoid, identifying problems that have been normalized, and telling leaders the truth about what is helping or hindering their organizations. His approach combines honest diagnosis with practical execution because truth without action changes nothing. He helps leaders cut through complexity, confront what is actually happening, and build a disciplined path forward.

Bert is a healthcare executive, entrepreneur, and strategic advisor with more than two decades of experience across healthcare organizations. Through Triaxiom Advisors, he works with owners, administrators, boards, and executive teams facing consequential decisions about performance, capital, growth, and organizational direction.

Before launching Triaxiom Advisors, Bert served as Chief Operating Officer for a multi-site medical group and ambulatory surgery center. He strengthened operational performance, expanded surgical capacity, improved EBITDA, reorganized human resources systems, and developed strategic plans aligned with ownership’s vision. His broader experience includes scaling market operations for large health systems, leading service-line turnarounds, guiding multi-hospital growth strategies, and directing a multi-state EMS organization through sustained profitable expansion.

His rural hospital work focuses on protecting access, strengthening financial and operational performance, and preserving essential healthcare infrastructure. He connects board priorities and executive leadership with market conditions, service-line performance, and organizational capacity.

Bert also advises healthcare start-ups and emerging companies as they move from promising ideas to viable organizations. He helps founders sharpen their value proposition, develop operating discipline, understand the healthcare marketplace, and prepare for real-world execution.

Bert combines executive leadership with more than 25 years of frontline clinical experience as a retired firefighter and licensed paramedic—a credential he maintains today. That experience shapes his understanding of patient care, workforce culture, and the pressures facing clinical teams. He approaches organizational improvement with respect for the people doing the work and the patients depending on them.

As an adjunct professor in the graduate healthcare administration program at UNT Health Fort Worth, Bert teaches healthcare finance to emerging leaders. He challenges students to look beyond financial statements and examine how operational decisions, leadership behavior, and resource allocation affect an organization’s clinical mission.

His speaking topics connect leadership development, organizational accountability, operational readiness, resilience, and capital decisions. He brings an operator’s perspective to each conversation, helping audiences translate ideas into practical decisions and action.

Bert is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and recipient of the ACHE of North Texas 2024 Volunteer of the Year Award. He has served the chapter as Communications Committee Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. He currently contributes to its Sponsorship Committee and is scheduled to serve as Chair in 2027.

He is also active in HFMA, HLA, and MGMA, contributing to professional dialogue, leadership development, and the exchange of ideas shaping healthcare’s future.
